Eldest: Frederick Brooks (1858-1932). Grandson of Henry Sands Brooks. Yale 1880. Became a partner in the business in 1889 and then First Vice President of the Corporation in 1903. First Chairman of the Board. Father of Winthrop Holley Brooks.
Second Eldest: Winthrop Holley Brooks (1893-1963). Great Grandson of Henry Sands Brooks. Yale 1915. Held the positions of Secretary, Director, Assistant Treasurer, and President. He was President from 1935-1946 before selling the company to Washington, D.C.-based retailer Julius Garfinckel and Company.
